3 months

Man this month has brought so much change! I can't believe you are 3 months. This is the time people say it "gets fun". I beg to differ, because all of it has been pretty fun to me.

This month was pretty fussy, but I really think it was because you were all the sudden bombarded with the world around you. I can see how that could be scary, so I just soothed you through it. I will admit though, there were times I had to set you down and go to another room for a minute because of your crying. I love you anyway.

Some milestones were:
  • You found your hands. Now you are constantly sucking on them, and almost prefer them sometimes over your pacifier. Not sure how I feel about that, but I'm being pretty relaxed about it.
  • Not only have you found your hands, you found your feet. You grab at them a lot when you are sitting in your Bumbo.
  • Speaking of Bumbo, you are now sitting in yours about 30 minutes a day without getting fussy. Your head is pretty stable. I say your 85% stable with your neck/head. I give you a few more weeks before you are completely stable.
  • You are sleeping at least 5 hours from the last nursing session of the day. Basically we go to sleep around 10 or 11, and you wake up around 4 or 5. It's not too bad because Papa is getting up around that time anyway. You even slept a whole night 4 nights in a row! Not sure if this is your new routine, but I like it!
  • You can now pretty much fall asleep at nap time WITHOUT listening to Lola Montez which is really nice, and I don't always have to nurse you to sleep at night time either.
  • You tried a teaspoon of rice cereal (for all you naysayers, remember mother's know best- and now I am thinking of Tangled...) I decided to give it to you because you had been really interested in my food (grabbing and eying). I gave you a teaspoon with breast milk, and you ate all of it like you knew EXACTLY what you were doing. You're so cool.
  • You are officially double your birth weight now.
  • You are very alert, and sometimes you even giggle. It's cute.
  • Your newborn clothes are all pretty much put away besides a few, and size one diapers are almost not fitting anymore. Boooo
Overall, you are becoming your own person and showing your personality. It's so much fun!
